Very Good

Lego DC Super-Villains is a Lego-themed action-adventure video game developed by Traveller's Tales, which serves as a spin-off to the Lego Batman trilogy and the fourth instalment in the Lego DC franchise. It offers a brand new campaign, experienced from the point of view of DC's 'bad guys'. The historical villains have proven to be great entertainers, despite a rather sour narrative and the same old gameplay formula. Unlike the Lego Batman trilogy, this is the first Lego video game to focus entirely on villains of the DC Universe. Much like Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes & Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, players are able to control a roster of iconic and obscure characters from the DC Universe, each with their own unique abilities. For the first time in a Lego video game, players can create a custom character that will be integrated into the story. As players progress in the game, new customisation options and abilities would be unlocked for players to use. The game's inclusion of a customized main character in the story and its upgrades are heavily inspired from Ubisoft's South Park video games, The Stick of Truth and The Fractured but Whole. If you hate Lego games, this isn’t going to change your mind. For everyone else, this is a delightful return to form which hopefully serves as a reference for TT Games’ future projects. This is the first Lego game all about the bad guys, so this is NOT Lego Batman 4, nor is it meant to replace it. This is more of an evolution of the Villains level section in the very first Lego Batman game, and that is a good thing for many reasons.
