Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is not Just a Game. This is BATTLE ROYALE!
Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is a massively multiplayer online survival video game developed and published by Bluehole Inc. for Microsoft Windows. This realistic, high tension game is set on a massive 8×8 km island with a level of detail that showcases Unreal Engine 4’s capabilities. Players are dropped into a wide, open area, and they must fight to the death – all while the battlefield shrinks, adding pressure to all in its grip. Last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Starting with nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor. The concept of the game began when lead designer Brendan Greene, under the alias of Playerunknown, began working as a modder on Arma 2, creating a custom gamemode now known as “battle royal”. The gamemode later shot off into other standalone games, such as Day Z and H1Z1: Just Survive. Greene then made the decision to make his own standalone battle royal game after seeing the commercial success of the genre.
